Create and send e-mails

This guide will walk you through the steps of creating and sending an email in the CMS. Follow these instructions to send a customized and targeted email newsletter to your audience.

  1. From the Dashboard menu on the left sidebar, navigate to Publisher.
  2. Click on Content. You will be taken to the Content page where you can manage your previous content and create new ones.
  3. In the top right corner of the Content page, click the button labeled Create Email. It could be hidden under a dropdown next to Create Article. This will open the form for creating a new email.

You can set a Reply-To address for an email at the template level. Do this by adding a custom field of type Text and giving it an alphanumeric key replyto. From there on, if this field is filled, it will be used as the Reply-To address when it is sent.

You can also override this at the social post level when sending a post.

You must include a link to unsubscribe from your newsletter list. You can either link to a page that asks the user to confirm their opt-out or to a page to manage their subscriptions. You can make use of the utm_campaign query string parameter to identify from which social post the user came from and utm_source to identify the channel name (usually CMS-id unless configured differently in the channel settings).

Make sure to implement E-mail Auto Login to enable users to unsubscribe without login friction.

You will now see a form where you can customize your email’s subject and body. Here’s how to fill it in:

The email editor contains a samples panel on the left side. Use it to get inspiration.

While writing text, you can use the predefined macros to allow the system to automatically fill in those fields.

  1. Use the status dropdown to set the Email’s status as Published.
  2. Use the Sharing tab from the tab list on the right side of the screen to send the Email to a targeted channel.
