Content Types
This guide will walk you through the steps to create and manage content types within the CMS. Content types are essential for organizing and structuring different types of content such as articles, videos, and more. You can define specific fields and customize how each content type behaves.
Accessing the Publisher Configuration
Section titled “Accessing the Publisher Configuration”- In the CMS sidebar, locate and click on Publisher Configuration under the Administration section.
- This will open the main dashboard where you can manage Publications, Content Types, Content Statuses, and more.
Creating a New Content Type
Section titled “Creating a New Content Type”To create a new content type, follow these steps:

In the Publisher Configuration dashboard, find the Content Types section.

Click on Create new type located at the top-right of the content types list.

A form will appear where you need to provide the following details:
- Name: The name of your content type (e.g., Article, Video Story).
- Description: A brief description of the content type.
- Slug: A unique identifier used in the system (auto-generated based on the name or can be customized).

Once you have filled in the details, click Save to create the content type.
Adding and Managing Fields for the Content Type
Section titled “Adding and Managing Fields for the Content Type”Each content type can have custom fields associated with it. Here’s how to add and manage fields:

After creating the content type, you will see a section labeled Fields.

Click on Add field to begin defining the structure of your content type.

In the Add a field window, provide the following information:
- Field Name: The name of the field (e.g., Title, Category, Date).
- Type: Choose the field type from the dropdown menu. You can select from:
- Custom: Create fields like Free Text, Number, Predefined List, Boolean (checkbox).
- Built-In: Choose from standard fields like Title, Category, Date, Teaser, Authors, and more.

After selecting the appropriate field type and name, click Save to add the field.

Repeat the process to add as many fields as necessary for the content type.
Changing the Order of Fields
Section titled “Changing the Order of Fields”You can change the order of the fields by dragging and sorting the fields from a mouse-enabled or touchpad device.
Managing Existing Content Types
Section titled “Managing Existing Content Types”- To manage an existing content type, go to the Content Types section in the Publisher Configuration dashboard.
- You will see a list of all existing content types. Click on a content type to edit it.
- You can:
- Add new fields.
- Modify existing fields (e.g., change their name or type).
- Change the order of fields.
- Delete fields if they are no longer needed.
Managing Content Statuses
Section titled “Managing Content Statuses”Content statuses allow you to define the workflow stages for content (e.g., Draft, Published, Editing). Follow the Content Workflow guide for additional information.
Managing Publications
Section titled “Managing Publications”Publications group content under different categories and languages. To manage publications:
- In the Publisher Configuration dashboard, locate the Publications section.
- You can see a list of existing publications along with their details (e.g., name, domain, locale).
- Click Create publication to add a new publication, where you can set the name, domain, categories, and other settings.
- Once a publication is created, you can assign content types to specific publications.
