Working with Feeds
The Feeds section of your CMS is designed to help users manage and import news from external wire services such as AFP, Reuters, and other sources. Feeds can consist of news articles, images, or other media and are easily searchable and customizable. This guide will walk you through how to use the Feeds feature, including how to filter and save searches, and how to start editing feeds to create articles.
1. Accessing the Feeds Section
Section titled “1. Accessing the Feeds Section”To begin working with external news sources:
- Navigate to the Feeds section on the left-hand panel of your CMS under the Publisher menu.
- In this section, you will see a list of incoming news stories from various wire services. Each entry displays information such as the Title, Provider, and Date.
2. Filtering Feeds and Conducting Searches
Section titled “2. Filtering Feeds and Conducting Searches”The Feeds section offers powerful search and filter capabilities to help you quickly find relevant content:

Filters Panel:
- Located on the right side of the screen, the Filters panel allows you to refine your search based on various criteria like Title, Provider, City, Country, Entity/Company, Topic, Language, and more.
- For example, if you are monitoring news related to a specific country or event, you can set filters for that topic or region.

Saving Search Filters:
- If you frequently search for news on particular topics or regions, you can save your filters for easy access in the future. After applying the desired filters, click Save Search Filter at the bottom of the panel. You can give the search a custom name for easy retrieval later.

Returning to Saved Searches:
- Your saved searches will appear at the top of the Filters panel under Saved Search Filters. Simply click on a saved filter to instantly apply those search criteria and see the relevant feed results.
3. Selecting and Editing Feeds
Section titled “3. Selecting and Editing Feeds”Once you’ve found a news story or set of stories that you’d like to use, you can easily select them and begin editing:

Selecting Stories:
- Each news feed has a checkbox to the left of the title. Select one or more feeds that you want to work with by checking these boxes.

Start Editing:
- After selecting your desired feeds, click the Start Editing button located at the top-right of the feed list. This action automatically imports the selected story or stories into the article editor.
- The imported content will include the body text and any associated images or attachments that were part of the original feed.

AI Assistance (Optional):
- Once the feed is imported into the editor, you can use the AI Assistant to help rewrite or improve the article. This can be especially useful if you need to make the content more suitable for your audience or reformat it for your publication style.
4. Managing Feeds and Customizing Your Workflow
Section titled “4. Managing Feeds and Customizing Your Workflow”The Feeds section is a great tool for staying up-to-date with breaking news and importing it directly into your workflow:

Monitoring Topics:
- Use saved searches and filters to monitor specific events, countries, or themes that are relevant to your publication. This way, you can quickly access the latest news without needing to search repeatedly.

Editing Imported Content:
- Once the content is in the editor, you can freely adjust the text, add your own commentary, change the headline, and even insert additional images or media to enhance the story.
5. Key Features of the Feeds Section

Wire Service Integration: Feeds from wire services like AFP, Reuters, and others are constantly updated in real-time, giving you access to the latest global news.
